Principal
Shane Haddley is the Principal of RESERVE landscape architecture & construction. He is a qualified carpenter, horticulturalist and landscape architect.
After finishing school, Shane worked as a landscaper in Brisbane for several years and completed a Certificate III in Horticulture (Landscaping). He then undertook and completed a carpentry apprenticeship.
After some time in the industry, working primarily on domestic renovations and landscaping, Shane decided to complement his skills base by studying a Bachelor of Built Design majoring in landscape architecture at QUT. He graduated with Distinction from his degree and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture, also at QUT.
Since then, Shane was employed as a landscape architect at the international design firm HASSELL before working for the Brisbane City Council in its City Centre Master Plan Implementation and Urban Design teams. More recently, he worked at FORM Landscape Architects where he was the project landscape architect responsible for the delivery of the celebrated Ken Fletcher District (All Abilities) Park at Tennyson in Brisbane. Over the past decade, he has been involved in the design and delivery of numerous landscape projects ranging from residential backyards to district recreational parks, and major transport and infrastructure projects.
Shane is particularly passionate about coastal and subtropical design. He believes in delivering outcomes that are economical, practical, vibrant and sustainable for future generations with a strong sense of place. He enjoys intricate and complex design work and collaborating with contractors and Council in his project management capacity as much as he does getting his hands dirty in the construction phase.
Shane is married and he and his wife Jessica are parents to three beautiful children and their friendly site dog “Steve”.
